Florida Product Approval instead of Miami-Dade NOA

Palm Beach County is not in the HVHZ, so products qualify under Florida Product Approval rather than requiring a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance. The protection standard is still serious — impact-rated glazing tested to wind-borne debris requirements — but a wider range of products qualifies at the same performance level, which generally works in your favour on both price and lead time compared with an identical job in Broward or Miami-Dade. Design pressures are still calculated per address; the county line changes the approval regime, not the physics.

The HOA usually decides before the building department does

Palm Beach County has an unusually high concentration of gated and country-club communities — BallenIsles, Mirasol, Frenchman's Creek, PGA National, Broken Sound, Boca Pointe, Palm Beach Polo, Admirals Cove. Most maintain approved-manufacturer lists and architectural review governing frame colour, glass tint and sometimes muntin pattern, and that approval has to be in hand before the permit issues.
